On November 3, 2018, the 2018 Annual Meeting of the Petroleum Chamber of Commerce of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce and the summit forum of petrochemical industry chain and the member meeting of Xiamen Petroleum Trade Center were successfully held in Xiamen. More than 800 participants, including those from member enterprises of Petroleum Chamber of Commerce of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce and industry-related enterprises, industry experts and scholars, and high-level representatives of enterprises, attended the event.

On the morning of March 3, the opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Wang Zhongming, Executive Vice-President and Secretary-General of China Private Economic Research Association. Huang Mengfu, honorary chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, Xie Boyang, former vice-chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce and counselor of the State Council, Li Zuke, former vice-chairman of the Fujian Provincial Political Consultative Conference, Chen Yongyu, Vice-chairman of the Xiamen Municipal Consultative Conference, You Wencang, Director of the Taiwanese Business Management Committee of Haicang District of Xiamen and the Acting District Governor of the district government, attended the launching ceremony of the annual meeting.

Chairman Huang Mengfu made an impromptu speech. He pointed out that from the perspective of current development, the importance and role of petroleum in the world economy and China's economy are still very prominent, and the petroleum industry still has great development potential. The reform of China's petroleum industry is in the ascendant. Private petroleum enterprises have achieved initial results after painstaking efforts, but there are still many problems in the reform that have not been solved and the reform policies have not been implemented. Private petroleum companies must create more development space by the reform and jointly promote the development of China's private petroleum industry.

Wang Youwei, President of the Petroleum Chamber of Commerce of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce and chairman of Shandong Hengyuan Petrochemical Co., Ltd., shared the achievements, successful experiences and matters needing attention in overseas investment of Hengyuan Petrochemical Company. Hengyuan Petrochemical Co., Ltd has keenly seized business opportunities in the fierce domestic competition. After many rounds of difficult negotiations, it has acquired Shell's refineries in Malaysia and made remarkable achievements, showing a successful case of Sinopec's "Going to the World". After the merger and acquisition, Hengyuan did not hold on to the domestic management experience to directly transform or destroy the original cultural ecology of the enterprise, but committed to the integration of development, adhering to the "Three Unchanged" principle: management team unchanged, corporate culture unchanged, and employee compensation unchanged, which has been widely recognized by the refinery in Malaysia, ensuring a shock-free merger. Hengyuan Malaysia's refinery has been in operation for more than a year, with stable transition and good operation, achieving good political returns and economic benefits. In his speech, Zhang Yue, the honorary president of the Petroleum Chamber of Commerce of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, said that General Secretary Xi's convening of a symposium on private enterprises showed his support for private enterprises. Private enterprises must adapt to the historical trend and quickly adjust their own industries to meet the changes in the world.
